So our route took us north out of the city to the motorway and to the favourite road sign of our break, the one with a grey background and four black stripes, meaning no speed limit, so it's just culturally rude not to make the most of it and push the cars up to a nice high crushing speed well into the hundreds and occasional blips to the naughty side of 150mph when traffic permitted. The magic 200 mph illuded us though because of traffic and what seem like hairpin bends at that speed.
We arrived at the Ring by lunchtime and checked into the hotel and then off to the track to see the ADAC car racing event on both the GP circuit and Nordschliefe. Our hotel was adjacent to the track. We managed to get around the pit, garages and then saw the start of an epic three hours race with over 150 cars in it, which was quite awesome.
A good dinner and then back to the track to see an epic Porsche only event which was a great way to round off the last formal day of our trip.
So trouble free apart from Jon's investment on the Belgian Police Christmas party, we have just our journey home to complete safely tomorrow.
David
