This morning we set out for the Stelvio, leaving Bormio and the great hotel we had just briefly stayed in, must come back and to the beginning of the climb up from the town, after a quick car wash and a refuel. Nick and Rchard were still fast asleep with two of us ready to go, in the car park, so a bit of a rush for them.
We were half way up thinking we had done it as it was that twisty and then we realised that the start was just upon us. We drove up to the top of Stelvio and then you get that famous Top Gear view down and we shot down the other side, dicing with the many motorbikes coming up from the Swiss side. A couple of points grounded us out on the front splitters but nothing serious. The hairpin bends all needed a very wide berth to get around.
We stopped for lunch at Zernez and carried on to the Fluela pass which was fast and twisty all the way to Davos. Matt Monroe in the background, well we just had to and then a more gentle day arriving in Davos early to check into the Sheraton and enjoy the pool, sauna etc etc and a rest.
All the resorts are quiet this time of year which is a delight too keeping slow traffic away from us, so no camper vans or caravans.
A big day tomorrow, via the San Bernardino Pass, the Furka Pass and maybe a few more up to Stuttgart where we spend two nights doing more car factories.
The pics and video footage uncut remind us just how good already.
