My current car is for sale to be replaced by a 968 race car over the winter ready to seriously get into my track work and commence active racing in 2013. Its being sold via a dealer but if anyone knows of a potential customer please let me know. I have now seen more than half a dozen cars around the country and narrowed it down to a preferred choice between one or another. One has just won the championship for 2013 which is my current favourite. Lets see which one comes to fruition.
This means that 2013 will be the year of the track so expect lots of events and invitations to come along and join in with your car or to watch.
We have had two good trips in 2012, the couples one to France and earlier the mammoth trip around Italy and most of Europe across the Alps and what an amazing thrip that was too, visiting Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Porsche and Mercedes en route. It really was petrolhead heaven.
More events will feature in 2013 with France being a favourite and possibly further afield, depending on level of interest, so start thinking.
Next year is also a big one for me age wise so an extra focus on all things car related to celebrate that starting with the autosport show in January, which is race focussed, the GP at Silverstone in the summer and as many other events as possible to fit it.
I would like to raise the profile too of this group which has slipped a bit because of work pressures and engage more participants into this network as a consequence, so please recommend others to come along. I shall arrange a social early in the New Year to discuss ideas.
I am with Radical cars next Tuesday at Bedford doing some testing and again at Silverstone on 8th December all day.
